The muxponder systems have an integrated filter for muxing the channels together. The muxponder solutions support point-to-point, linear, or ring topologies. The muxponder systems can be expanded by stacking systems to a maximum of 40 channels, and can mix and match 10G and 100G systems.
The transponder systems do not have an integrated filter, but require an external DMD (Mux/Demux) filter to aggregate the DWDM channels together. The transponder supports ring, linear, point-to-point, and mesh topologies. The transponder solutions can be expanded by stacking systems up to 96 channels, which means 9.6TB on the line-side and 11TB on the client-side. Again, you can have a mix of 10G and 100G systems for each of those 96 channels.
XKL offers several solutions.
The DMD-A systems, when applied to Point-to-Point or Linear networks, have an optionally integrated optical protection switch (OPS). This OPS allows for a working path and protected path, which is a second fiber pair (usually diverse path) to support continuous operation if a fiber break or other failure on one path were to take place. The OPS will switch the traffic in sub-50ms to the protected path.
The DSM10 systems provide Automatic Path Protection (APP). The APP feature uses the electrical crossbar to automatically switch traffic to a fail-over channel if the connection to the primary channel is interrupted. Optionally, the systems can be set up to fall back to the original channel when the connection is restored. APP can be changed during system operation at any time. APP is soft-configurable on a per-interface basis.
Additional protection schemes are in development for various models. Ask your XKL contact for more information
The distance XKL solutions can support with integrated EDFA’s is around 150km, or up to 200km with EFDA/Raman hybrid solution, depending on fiber type, losses in the fiber, and fiber quality.
XKL can integrate amplifiers within either of the systems themselves or within the Mux/Demux (DMD) system itself. Integrating the amplification into the DMD saves costs in the long run as it amplifies for all systems stacked under it (versus integrating amplification into each system).
XKL does not require any licensing fees at all – no hardware license fees, no software license fees – for the life of the system.
XKL does not charge for software upgrades for the life of the system.
XKL provides the first year of standard warranty on each device FREE (100% discounted). Prices are quoted for Years 2-5 for budgetary planning purposes for both the standard or upgraded warranties. The decision of whether or not to renew the warranty is solely at the customer’s discretion up to 5 years. This helps reduce your overall total cost of ownership.
Yes, XKL supports 100G SR10 interfaces on the DSM10, DQT10 and DQM10 products.
100G SR10 support will be available on the DQT100/DQM100 in a future software release. Please consult with your XKL contact about the timing of your project to find out the latest.
Our DQT400 supports both 100G LR4 and 4x100G client optics. The 400G is now available for procurement from XKL.
