XKL Announces the Expansion of its eVolocity Platform at NANOG 70

Redmond, WA – June 5th, 2017 –

XKL announced the expansion of its eVolocity platform today at NANOG 70. The exciting new features of eVolocity include DWDM networks and lit service handoffs all across the same interface. This capability allows customers to connect physically separate private DWDM networks within a single platform.

The ability to light dark fiber and interface to lit services, including subsea, terrestrial and aerial, with a single, integrated platform, enables customers to create more flexible networks. The eVolocity platform also acts as a media converter, aggregating 10GE ports for transport on 100G DWDM wavelengths and on LAN-PHY interfaces. Moreover, it leverages statistical multiplexing at OSI layer 1, giving customers the ability to aggregate more client-side interfaces than the standard 10x10GE solutions.

“Enterprise networks are increasingly separated from their data centers as facilities are established further away from corporate offices,” comments Dr. Chad Lamb, Chief Systems Architect for XKL. “When dark fiber is not available to those remote locations, the eVolocity platform can access your proprietary network via lit services. This provides a great deal of flexibility for the customer in how the network is designed.”

XKL’s eVolocity platform was introduced in October of 2016 and uses statistical multiplexing to flexibly allocate capacity on a per client basis. Today at NANOG 70, XKL’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Len Bosack, will deliver a keynote address where he will analyze the role statistical multiplexing plays in networks and assess the likely trajectory it and other advances will take in the years to come.
